Why PØLR Exists. PØLR isn’t just a logo — it’s a message.
This isn’t just a clothing brand. For me, it’s personal; It’s a statement. One that started here in Northwestern Ontario, where isolation is real, the winters are long, and mental health isn’t talked about enough. the quiet nights where your thoughts get loud… it’s where I learned that strength isn’t just physical. It’s mental.
Growing up here, I saw how many people struggle silently, especially men. I saw how the gym became more than a workout spot. It became a coping mechanism, a way to feel in control, even when everything else felt heavy. That’s where this started: with the idea of combining fitness and mental health into something you can wear, something that represents that mindset. For so many of us, the gym isn’t just about lifting weights — it’s about lifting ourselves out of dark places.
But there’s still a stigma. Too many people — especially men — stay quiet when they’re struggling. They hide it behind strength, behind humour, behind a barbell. That’s why PØLR exists.
To be a reminder that it’s okay to talk about it, and that strength looks different for everyone.
PØLR is about advocacy through action — using fitness, fashion, and community to spark conversation. Every piece of clothing is a symbol — of resilience, honesty, and northern endurance. When someone wears PØLR, I want them to feel connected to something bigger. A movement where people help people, where no one feels like they have to fight their battles alone.
Our goal isn’t just to make apparel that looks good or lasts through harsh northern days — it’s to build a community that lasts longer than the fabric.
A community where talking about mental health isn’t seen as weakness.
A community where showing up — even on the hard days — means everything.
Change doesn’t start with massive movements or perfect words.
